A small program needs few people, but the roles must be clear. One person can hold two roles, except program lead and data steward should be different people so there is a check on data decisions.

Paying people
Pay residents for their time: participants ($30 per 90-minute session), peer helpers, community connectors, and advisory members, all at $20/hour, the Kansas City Documenters rate. Stipends change who can participate. The host organization or a fiscal sponsor handles payments. Budget lines and funding are in Budget and Hardware.
Peer helper retention at six months is one of the program's three outcome measures (see Evaluation and Metrics). Paying them, giving them real responsibility, and asking why anyone leaves all help.
Program owner and site administrator
KC Digital Drive owns the program. Simon L. Paige is founder, site administrator, and advisor. He may join kickoff or check-in conversations, but is not the recurring facilitator. KCDD should assign a program lead and a separate data steward; names are not yet supplied. Program inquiries go through KCDD’s official contact page.
